WHAT IS RunShanghai?
Are you looking for a truly unique way to see Shanghai while keeping up your fitness? Then sign up
for RunShanghai's running tours!

Ideal for those who hate sitting on tour buses but find walking tours boring, RunShanghai takes you
through Shanghai's historical neighborhoods with stops at the best tourist spots.

Our running guides are knowledgeable about the history, culture, cuisine, and layout of the city. Run
to the Bund, through the Old City, around the former French Concession, and through some of the
city's beautiful parks.

Tour Options
Choose from the following options:
  • Old City/ the Bund - This tour starts at the edge of the former French Concession, through
    the old city, and onto the Bund before ending on Suzhou Creek. Visit local markets and
    temples along the way before marveling at the old and new Shanghai on the Bund.
  • Former French Concession - Experience the charm of this historic neighborhood, marvel
    at the Art Deco architecture, and soak in the local culture of the city's parks.
  • Pudong 1 - Get a sense of the futuristic side of Shanghai with a tour of its financial area
    (Lujiazui) where the tallest buildings reside, down to the Science & Technology Museum, and
    ending at Century Park, one of Shanghai's largest parks.
  • Coming Soon! Pudong 2 - Same start as the Pudong 1 tour but running down to the old
    World Expo site. This tour is for more serious runners.

Information & Fees
These running tours are designed for all fitness levels. Please keep in mind that while we try to
accommodate everyone, we keep the pace at a level that is comfortable for less experienced runners.

Each tour is 1.5 to 2 hours (depending on how many stops guests want)
Fees: 350 RMB per runner
Group size: Minimum 4 runners (Smaller groups can opt to pay the full minimum
fee).*
Includes: Sport drink, water, snacks
Time: All tours start in the morning at 8a.m. at a designated meeting spot

Xhingyu Chen is an independent art critic, contemporary art advisor, art tour
guide, and running enthusiast. A runner since high school, where she was a
member of the varsity cross country team, she is also an expert of Shanghai's
culture, cuisine, history, and art scene. She completed the 2007 Shanghai
Half-marathon, the 2008 Hangzhou half-marathon, and the 2009 Shanghai
marathon. In March 2010, she completed the
4Deserts Atacama Crossing, a six
day, multi-stage, 250 kilometer foot race in Chile. She has lived in Shanghai since
2002.
David Chitayat is an amateur triathlete and running enthusiast. He first
became interested in running four years ago and has not stopped since. He
completed the 2007 Shanghai half-marathon, the 2008 Hangzhou
half-marathon, and the 2009 Shanghai marathon. He competed in the 2008
Bintan Triathlon, the 2008 Shanghai Duathlon, the 2010 Beijing Triathlon,
and the 2010 Weihai Triathlon. In March 2010, he completed the
4Deserts
Atacama Crossing, a six day, multi-stage, 250 kilometer foot race in Chile. In
December, he will compete in Iron Man Phuket, in the half-iron man race. He
has lived in Shanghai since 2002.
